It was found without its original accompanying iron hardware, which apparently was removed long ago and the mechanical butter churn repurposed as a wooden collection bin. Great original ox-blood red painted, dry, matte exterior surfaces and wonderful black ink stamped front and side sidewalls. Patented in 1862 by William H.Paine and Company of Gorham, Maine.
